intimate interactions
joined discord late, to attend weekend study group for the game workshop im just started. thinking about game making and the things its making me clarify re: art n making, and game ideas.
i have this idea about executive dysfunction, and clutter. You do a bunch of tasks in an unruly body, and if you finish them all, you get to go to a party. If you run out of energy (via little runts candy bananas u can 'eat' around the game), you fall into a pile and have to text ur friend that u cant go. tasks like put away all 5 of ur green shirts.
More likely:
- pick up all ur stinky clothes and put them in the laundry, so u have stuff to wear. remember to switch it to the dryer!
- find ingredients and prep sandwiches for the week.
- do stretches so you can dance (but do too many and you'll be too tired n can't dance at all)
- find shoes to wear to party, that go with ur outfit, (but also find ur insoles so ur feet don't hurt)
- shower, while dodging bad thoughts.
& of course
6. get to party, and dance w/ all ur pals.
Would be fun to have a dress up section.
Oh, new tool! Downpour. It's a mobile game maker!! The users seem mainly UK centered. Something to try.
Anyway, it got me thinking about the what do i do, and why quest in my own life. And I think I just like making intimate interactions. Creating the conditions for them.
New term I am putting into practice w/ game making: Game Mechanics. --> Points of interaction in game play, between character and game world.
Lots of thinking on the art vs code divide, because the way I want to design the world is very based on physics (as in how an object behaves in relation to another object --oh, could we play with gravity?), but also it might be easier to hack it with animation, because I need more understanding of how the code would actually work.
